Heavy brows from aging can make eyes appear tired and hooded. The forehead & brows descend with age as the shape of the frontal skull changes. Treatments such as Botox can make the brows appear heavier, and the eyes appear hooded & smaller as one gets older because of this.
A surgical brow lift is helpful in providing a wider more opened look to the eyes. All surgeries are done under sedation. We have 2 approaches to brow lifting surgeries –
Strategy 1 – Scarless brow lifting surgery involves tiny hidden access incisions for lifting the lateral brows (outer eye corners). This can also be used to provide more of a seductive ‘Cat-Eye’ look to the brow contour. This is good for earlier signs of sagging of the forehead and brow region.
Strategy 2 – Full brow surgery provides a greater lift to the entire forehead while smoothing out forehead lines. The incisions are hidden within the hairline. This is a better approach for older patients with more forehead wrinkles.
