Our clinic is headed by Dr. Desmer Destang. She is a dual qualified physician who had made use of both her dental and medical background in her focus on facial aesthetics.
Dr. Destang holds 5 masters degrees, including Orthodontics & Orofacial Orthopedics (Glasgow University), Dermatology (Cardiff University), and Aesthetic Medicine (Queen Mary of London University).
Her love and exposure of facial surgery began in the early 1990’s while attending the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Trinidad. Under the guidance of the now deceased Professor Eric Thomson, she excelled at Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, and obtained extensive training in head & neck surgeries, including cleft lip repair, facial trauma repair, maxillary and mandibular osteotomies, and facial oncogenic (tumor) surgeries, until she graduated from the Faculty of Medical Sciences in 1995.
In keeping with her love for facial aesthetic surgery, she maintained strong dental ties in OMFS (oral & maxillofacial surgery) over the decades. With her preference for natural-directed beauty, Dr. Destang also combines exceptional aesthetic techniques from over a decade of personal training with leading surgeons from South Korea, Italy & Russia. She holds fellowship qualifications in facial cosmetic surgery & stem cell regeneration.
Holding a Masters of Science in Orthodontics & Orofacial Orthopedics means that Dr. Destang examines facial structures and aging beyond what is seen on the outside. Maxillary & mandibular skeletal bone relationships play a key role in her facial aesthetic & surgical treatment planning, in order to determine the best natural positions to re-drape the skin and muscular facial structures.
In the area on non-surgical aesthetics, our doctor is a leading educator and key opinion leader in the training of aesthetic medicine (Botox, fillers, cosmetic dermatology and lasers). She has taught hundreds of physicians as an educator with the University of South Wales (Aesthetic Medicine), and is a senior faculty member with the AAAM (American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine).
Born in 1972, Dr. Destang is an avid runner, trained dancer, health and fitness enthusiast, wife and mother. Her philosophies of lifestyle health translates into her expert use of stem cells in her clinic as the most natural source of high quality autologous (from-your-own-body) genetic material for face & body regeneration, and overall superior aging.
